Glossary
The words we use, explained like a friend would. No jargon allowed.
Ally
Your own AI helper. It learns how you work, remembers what matters to you, and does the heavy lifting — writing, research, planning, organizing — while you stay in charge.
API key
A short code that works like a house key — it lets your Ally in to use its brain in the cloud. You copy and paste it once during setup. You get it from a provider (see below), like DeepSeek ↗ or OpenAI ↗.
Provider
The company that runs the AI brain your Ally plugs into — like OpenAI (the ChatGPT people) or DeepSeek. You pay them directly for what your Ally uses, which is usually pennies.
Playbook
A ready-made mission you hand to your Ally — step-by-step instructions for getting a real job done, with checkpoints where you approve what happens next. Browse them on the playbooks page.
Checkout
Where you pay for your Ally. Safe, normal online checkout — the same kind you use everywhere else.
Portal
Your private account page on this site — where your Ally, your playbooks, and your upgrades live after you buy. You'll find it at the portal once you're signed in.
Upgrade
An add-on that teaches your Ally something new — like connecting it to your phone or giving it a new skill. See what's available on the tutorials shelf.
Say hello
The first conversation with your Ally. After checkout you get an email with a link — click it, type "hi," and your Ally introduces itself and takes it from there.
A word we missed? Your Ally can explain anything — that's the whole point.
